Campden Tablets are commonly used in wine and cider making to prevent oxidation and to inhibit the growth of wild bacteria and yeast in must. Homebrewers will typically use campden tablets to remove chlorine or chloramine in their brewing water.
Recommended usage for chlorine/chloramine removal is to crush one tablet into a fine powder and add to brewing water.
